Tour de Rice

Charity Ride in Hanoi

A few days prior to the big departure, I invited friends from Hanoi to a farewell matinee. On the cold Saturday morning of February 27th we gathered in front of the beautiful Trấn Quốc Pagoda for a short bike ride around West Lake and we finished it over a cup of coffee and cake.

It is heartwarming to see how many people came and responded so positively to my project. I have been living in Hanoi for (only) two and a half years and I am happy to have made friendships and connections that will last. The Dutch community, the Hanoi International Choir, our little Hanoi Cathedral Choir - you are like family to me!

The morning had also the main goal to kickstart my fundraiser for the Rice Scholarship Program (RSP).
RSP coordinators did a presentation and explained about their activities. I am very proud to report that within 2 hours we raised the amount of
US$ 544! Useless to say, it was a great success!

Follow your donation and see it on this page here.

Now it's time to ride a bicycle and jump into the unknown.
Your moral and financial generosity gives me a tremendous motivation to complete 2016forVietnam!

Follow my ride, share the blog and the donation page with your friends!
THANK YOU for all your support!
